Winona County Public Health monitoring measles outbreak in SW Wisconsin

(KWNO)-Winona County Public Health is urging everyone to check their vaccination records in response to the ongoing measles outbreak in southwestern Wisconsin. In a statement Public Health says people who are not vaccinated are at greatest risk if exposed and the MMR vaccine is the best way to prevent measles. Public Health is working in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Health in monitoring the outbreak.

Measles is highly contagious and anyone who develops a fever and rash or believes they’ve been exposed to measles shoud contact their healthcare provider immediately.
