(KWMN)- The #1 Seed Cotter Ramblers aim to keep the playoff win streak alive today against the #5 seed Pine Island Panthers.
The Ramblers have outscored their opponents 18-1 so far this post-season and have only allowed a total of six hits. The Ramblers have not lost since May 9th, a 2-6 decision against Rochester Lourdes. They will face Pine Island; a team they have already seen once this season already.
In Cotter’s previous playoff game against PEM, the Ramblers only need a heavy hitting of the bottom of the third inning to secure a win, putting six runs on the board. In the game, Dane Guzzo picked up the win after throwing seven strikeouts, with Daniel Gaedy going 3-4 at the plate with one RBI. Will Peterson from the second spot in the lineup went 2-4, with two RBI and a run scored. The Ramblers have recorded 17 strikeouts against playoff opponents in this run.
The Pine Island Panthers picked up a close win against the Caledonia Warriors last Saturday, for a final score of 2-1. The Warriors almost beat the Ramblers this season, before a 7th inning rally and walk off sent Caledonia home empty handed. In the game, Pine Island had just three hits and two RBI, but it was all they needed. The only inning of offense was in the top of the fourth, where Mason Jasperson came through with a double to score two runs.
The Ramblers took the regular season meeting on May 4th, 8-4. Rawson Sullivan collected three hits from the leadoff spot, for an RBI and two runs scored. Jameson Lynch also went 2-3 with 2 RBI, while VInce Frisch picked up the win with three strikeouts.
The game is slated for a 3:00PM first pitch, with the pregame live at 2:45PM. Listen live on KWMN 99.3 FM, or by using the link below:
