Steve G Breza, 77 of Kasson, MN and formerly of Winona, MN, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center, Mankato, MN.
Steve Gene was born April 24, 1947, to Dorothy (Gappa) and Eugene Breza in Winona. He graduated from Cotter High School in 1965 and enlisted in the US Army. On May 17, 1969, he married Katherine Weberg at Church of St. Joseph, Red Wing, MN and together they had a son Steve. Katherine passed away February 10, 2017.
Steve was an avid military man and had a full career in the U.S. Army retiring as First Sergeant. He was a member of the Kasson American Legion Post 333. In his younger years, he enjoyed softball, his dogs, cooking, canning, and gardening. After retirement he found part time employment with Dodge County Sherriff Department as a transporter and with Erdmans Country Market, Kasson.
He is survived by his son Steve Jr. (Krissy Peterson); siblings: Jeff (Barb) Breza; Jim (Sonja) Breza and Michele Breza; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Katherine; brother Dennis Breza and nephew Justin Breza.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Winona. Interment with military honors will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
