(KWMN)- The #1 Cochrane-Fountain City Pirates embark on another playoff run as they face the Hillsboro Tigers in the first round of the WIAA playoffs.

The Pirates wrap up their second consecutive undefeated season (the first time in school history the pirates have gone back-to-back regular seasons without a loss) and finish with their third straight Dairyland Conference title. They defeated Whitehall one week ago, 35-7 behind heroics from Aidan Lisowski, who finished with 181 yards and three touchdowns, alongside his first career interception. Parker Kujak had 86 yards, completing 8 of 13.

The Pirates lead or have a player in the top 5 in most Division 7 football statistical categories, for better or worse. Aidan Lisowski, with 25 rushing touchdowns is enough for most in Division 7 football, but also fifth in the state of Wisconsin as a whole. Lisowski also has the second most all-purpose yards (1475), second most rushing yards (1426), and fifth most offensive touchdowns (25). Parker Kujak is 4th most in Yards per Completion with 16.9, and has the fourth highest QB rating with 175.2, and also has the second most interceptions on the defensive side of the ball with 6. Audi Schwanke remains the only player in Division 7 to be in the top 5 on both Kickoff Return TDs and pick 6’s. Ethan Holzer is leading all of D7 football in both punt return yards (171) and punt return TDs (2), while also have the 5th longest return (33 yards). Ryker Duellman, as a freshman, has the third most kick off yardage with 2035 and the 2nd most PATs made with 36. As a whole, the Pirates have the second most touchdown total this season (55), the second most rushing touchdowns (42), the fourth most total yards of offense (3267), and the most rushing yard per carry (9.7).

The Hillsboro Tigers are making a return to the WIAA playoffs after missing last season. They last made it in 2024, where they fell in the first round 12-48 to Cambria-Friesland. The Tigers finished 4-5, but won their last two, 27-6 over Necedah, and 41-0 over New Lisbon. The seoncary unit for the Tigers is one of the best in the state, with Ben Blaha pulling in 6 interceptions (T-2nd most in division 7, alongside Parker Kujak) and having 11 pass breakups, tied for most in all of division 7 football. Malekai Simpson also leads in pick 6’s with 2 on the season.
