GAME-PREVIEW: Cotter Ramblers Football vs. Red Wing

(KWMN)- The Cotter Ramblers (3-1) look to get back into the right side of the record book against the Red Wing Wingers (1-3).

The Ramblers suffered their first loss of the season last week in a section championship rematch against the Pine Island Panthers. The Ramblers went back-and-forth with the panthers, in a game where special teams played a crucial role. The Ramblers scored on their second drive of the game, but had their extra point blocked to prevent what would have been the tie to keep the score at 7-6. On the next Panthers drive, the Ramblers special teams came through again with a blocked punt by Lewi Shira. The play set the Ramblers up inside the redzone, where they would cash it in for a touchdown, and then a successful two-point conversion. It would be the last time the Ramblers scored however, and they fell 21-14 at home.

The Red Wing Wingers are coming off a tough loss of their own, 48-27 to the La Crescent-Hokah Lancers. The game was played largely on the ground, with both teams’ combings for over 500 rushing yards. The Wingers picked up their first win of the season two games ago, a 30-21 road win over Plainview-Elgin-Millville.
