STATE TOURNAMENT GAME PREVIEW: Cotter Baseball vs. St. Cloud Cathedral

By Liam Statz Jun 12, 2026 | 9:50 AM

(KWMN)- The #5 seed Cotter Ramblers need one game to advance to their first State Championship game since 1984, but they will have to contend with the #1 seeded St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders.

Cotter won its first state tournament game since 2008 yesterday, a 15-6 victory of the #4 seed Cannon Falls Bombers. The Ramblers trailed by 5 heading into the fourth, but a five run fifth inning propelled Cotter into the lead, a lead they would never relinquish. Read the recap of the game here: Quarterfinal Recap.

The St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders have now not lost in the last 27 consecutive days, since a 0-5 loss to Delano. The Crusaders are the only team in the AA tournament with less losses than Cotter, with a record of 23-2. St. Coud Cathedral started their season with a 14-game winning streak, taking their first loss on May 13th.

St. Cloud allowed just two runs during their section tournament and then dismantled the Minnehaha Academy Redhawks yesterday in the Quarterfinal 6-2. A four-run bottom of the first was enough for the crusaders to claim victory.

Today’s game is scheduled for a 1:30PM first pitch, with the pregame live at 1:15PM. Listen live on KWMN 99.3 or by using the link below:
