By TJ Nov 22, 2021 | 11:38 AM

(KWNO)-Federal health officials opened the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to people over the age of 18 on Friday.

Winona County Health and Human Services will be offering boosters to all eligible persons at their upcoming vaccine clinics, the first of which takes place today (Monday) from 3-7 p.m. at the Lewiston Elementary School.

Boosters are open to individuals ages 18 and older who are six months removed from completing their Pfizer or Moderna vaccine sequence. Health officials recommend people over the age of 50 get their boosters as soon as possible.

Those who received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine are advised to get their boosters two months after they’ve completed their vaccine sequence.
