Winona County Announces Next Round of Vaccine Clinics, New Incentives

(KWNO)-Winona County Health and Human Services has announced their next round of COVID-19 vaccine clinics.  

Two are taking place before the Thanksgiving holiday. The first will be at the Lewiston Elementary School from 3-7 p.m. on Monday and the second is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Winona County Public Health, located inside of the Parkview Office building at Winona Health.  

The clinics come as the Minnesota Department of Health announced additional incentives to its Kids Deserve a Shot vaccination campaign. MDH says Minnesota’s professional sports teams, the Como Zoo, First Ave. concert venue, and more have donated experiences to the incentive effort.  

That’s in addition to Winona County’s vaccine incentive.

“These vaccines undergo multiple safety precautions to make sure they’re safe for our population that they’re being administered for,” said Winona County Public Health Supervisor Melanie Tatge. “It goes through three-phase trials to make sure the correct dosage is being administered, that there are no harmful side effects and that it’s safe for that population.”
