WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Winona City Council has approved new transit routes and an increase of fares for the Dial-a-Ride service.
Starting September 7, two bus routes will originate downtown, one route will be dedicated to the east side of town and another will service the west side of town. Council members said the new routes will be more efficient when they were initially approved in 2019.
Also starting September 7, the Dial-a-Ride transit service, which runs after 6 p.m., will have its cash fare increase from $2.50 to $3.50, and the 11-ride punch card price will jump from $13 to $35 bucks.
All other fares will stay the same with the exception of curbside divination which will increase from 50 cents to 75 cents.
