Habitat for Humanity serving Winona County is pleased to announce two new additions to their staff.
The Habitat Construction team is thrilled to welcome Dylan Mueller onboard! Born and raised in Winona, Dylan currently lives with his wife Cedar, daughter Birdie, and dog Ernie. Dylan was previously employed at Kendell Lumber for 10 years. In his free time, he enjoys hockey, fishing, and being around family. In his new role as Repairs Coordinator, Dylan will help launch Habitat’s new Aging in Place program providing accessibility modifications and home repairs for older adults and people living with disabilities. Services include everything ranging from wheelchair ramps and grab bars to flooring and weatherization.
Mueller says, “I am excited to be a part of a great organization that truly cares about the wonderful people in this community.”
At the same time, the ReStore welcomes Dave Mullen to their team! Dave started working at the ReStore two years ago through Experience Works, an employee training program for individuals 55 and over. In his role as Receiving Coordinator, Dave will welcome ReStore donors as they come through the covered drive-thru, facilitate the donation process, and help get new items ready for the sales floor. Dave returned to Winona after living in Red Wing for 30 years, and he is looking forward to giving back to the community where he was raised.
Habitat is also pleased to recognize their Finance & Family Services Manager, Laura Slavey, who recently earned her Qualified Loan Originator certification. All Habitat affiliates must have at least one qualified loan originator performing lending and loan servicing activities. Slavey is now the second team member in Winona with this certification.
Lastly, Habitat congratulates Jessi Darst for her promotion to Community Engagement Coordinator. In this new position, she will coordinate the Habitat volunteer program, marketing and communications, and community-based fundraising activities. Darst was initially hired in 2019 as the Volunteer and Marketing Coordinator and has been an incredible advocate for affordable housing in the Winona area.
