(KWMN)- The Winona Winhawks are looking to bounce back after a tough loss on the road in Eagan.
Winona has had an entire week to prepare and shake off their week 1 loss, 41-21 against the SMB (Blake, Minnehaha Academy, St. Paul Academy and Summit School, Hope Academy) Wolfpack. Despite the loss, the Winhawks offense was efficient. Kyle Keller threw 16 completions on 27 attempts for 165 yards, including two passing TDs. Michael Burkes scored the only rushing TD, punching it in on the goal-line for the score. They were led defensively by Colby Mlynczak, who secured 11 tackles, including one sack.
Columbia Heights suffered a heartbreaking loss in week 1, 35-28 against St. Anthony. The Highlanders were dominant on the ground with a combined three rushing TDs, including two by Anthony Campbell. They were less apt through the air however, with Campbell completing just 50% of his passes (7/14), but one passing TD to Jiovanni Boyd.
