Sally Ann (Casady) Moran, 63, of Winona, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2026, with her husband by her side. She passed from complications of a heart attack doing something that she loved, playing pickleball. We are deeply grieving the loss of our wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Sally was born on October 24, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Samuel Casady and Maxine Casady. Sally was a talented athlete focusing on volleyball in high school and college, later transferring that talent to national level tennis and competitive pickleball as an adult. After graduating from Bemidji State University with a double major in Business and Economics, she married her loving husband, Michael Moran, and built their family foundation in Winona where they then were blessed with three children. Sally’s love for sports and community from her early life bloomed into her later years as she spent her career as the Tennis Center Manager in Winona.
Above all else, Sally was devoted to her faith and her family. She was a loving wife, a proud mother and Nana, and a cherished friend. People were drawn to Sally; her vibrant, dynamic, loving, generous and faithful spirit. She had an empathetic ability to make everyone feel welcome and cherished. She was the cornerstone of not only her immediate family, but also to our extended family and other dear friends. She was our light and our prayer warrior.
Sally is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Michael Moran; their children and spouses, Marty and Kimberly Moran, Jay and Kara Moran, and Caroline and Charlie Singerhouse; her cherished grandchildren, Jameson, Colter, Martha, Calihan, Rosalie, and Stella; her siblings and spouses, Mindy and Michael Conrad, Sherry and Bruce Wermuth, and David Casady; her sister-in-law and spouse, Diane and Ed Droope; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Maxine Casady.
The family would like to thank the caregivers who provided exceptional care and comfort during Sally’s passing.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 2:00 at River Bluff Church in Winona, with a prior visitation from 12:00-2:00. Following the service, guests are welcome to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the church lobby. An open house memorial will follow at Blank Slate, 320 Mankato Avenue, from 4:30-7:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Compassion International. Sally was devoted to sponsoring numerous children for over 30 years, providing them the opportunity to flourish.
A legacy that will last forever is her deep faith, and love of Jesus. A legacy that continues through her beautiful family. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
