(MNN)-Smoke from wildfires has prompted an Air Quality Alert across much of Minnesota through Friday. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency says smoke from fires in northeastern Minnesota and Canada is creating unhealthy air, especially for children, older adults and people with heart or lung disease. Health officials recommend limiting prolonged outdoor activity, keeping windows closed and using air conditioning on recirculate if possible. Air quality is expected to be worst across northeastern Minnesota, with unhealthy conditions possible in much of the rest of the state.
