Chiefs Close Out Steamboat Days Against Rochester Roadrunners

The Winona Chiefs (3-6) host their second straight game at Gabrych Park against the Rochester Roadrunners (2-8) for Sunday Twin Rivers action.

The Chiefs took on the Dodge County Diamondbacks on Friday, ending their five-game losing streak with a 7-0 victory at home. Tucker Merchlewitz earned a no-hitter through five and a half innings. First baseman Jake French whacked homers to left and left center to earn five of the seven runs for the Chiefs in the first and fourth inning. He finished 3-3 with two runs to push the Chiefs to their third home victory.

The Roadrunners come to town looking for their second road win. They defeated the Wanamingo Jacks on June 7th for the last victory so far. They dropped their contest on Friday to Rush Creek 5-4 at Hudson Field.

The Chiefs look to end Steamboats Days on a high note, looking for their fourth win at Gabrych this season. Coverage starts at 4:45 PM. First pitch at Gabrych at 5 on 99.3 KWMN.
