(KWMN)- The Winona Winhawks (8-4) look for the season sweep tonight against the Albert Lea Tigers (0-7).

Winona is a day removed from a dominating 9-3 victory over the Red Wing Wingers. The Winhawks put up 3 runs in the bottom of the first, and then secured the eventual game-winning run after Brittany Lee scored Adyson Speltz on an RBI single. Else Graner had 3 stolen bases in the win. On the mound, Lee picked up her 7th win of the season after she went the full 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, with 4 strikeouts and no walks. Winona is tied for first in the Big Nine, alongside Northfield (8-0).

Albert Lea suffered its 7th loss of the season, after Rochester-John Marshall put 5 runs up in the top half of the first inning. The Tigers were unable to close the gap, but did score 4 runs through 4 innings to pull to within 4 of John Marshall halfway through the game. Calleigh Noble picked up a triple, going 1-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

The Winhawks and Tigers met once already this season, with Winona taking a dominating 16-0 victory on April 14th. The Winhawks cruised to victory with an 8 run 6th inning. Britanny Lee had 6 strikeouts in the victory.
