(KWNO)-Interstate 90 motorists will experience lane closures beginning March 30 between Dakota and Nodine in Winona County as crews prepare for construction to begin in early May, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The lane closures are for ditch cleaning and tree removal adjacent to the highway.

Single‑lane traffic with intermittent right and left lane closures on westbound I-90 begins March 30 and work is expected to continue through April 10. Crews will return April 13-18 for tree removal, requiring additional lane closures. A right-lane closure on eastbound I-90 begins April 6 for ditch cleaning and is expected to remain in place through April 17 with crews returning April 13-24 for tree removal.

The I-90 resurfacing, bridge replacement construction project will begin May 4. Lane closures will return and remain in place through late fall. Eastbound lanes are anticipated to reopen before westbound as work progresses.
A public information meeting will be scheduled in April to discuss construction plans.
