Marilyn Gora, 90 of Winona, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at home surrounded by her family.
Florence Marilyn was born August 15, 1935, in Ferryville, WI to Vera (Seymour) and Ben Nicholson. She graduated from La Crosse, WI. She was formerly employed at Fiberite Corp, Winona and retired from Hal Leonard Corporation, Winona after 35 years of employment.
On September 5, 1963, she married Richard Gora in Goodview, MN and they were married for over 62 years. She loved to bake cookies and watch the birds, squirrels, and rabbits in her back yard. She tied quilts at her church and volunteered at the hospital.
She is survived by her husband Richard; seven children: John Marshall, Joe Marshall, Susan Marshall, Laurie Jenkinson, Ron (Suzanne) Gora, Angie Gora, and Tracy (Charlie McNally) Brown; grandchildren: Nick, Jeramiah, Danny, Matt, Mallorie, Melissa, Nikki, Landon, Ben, Keaton, Ella, Anna, Kenna, Kenny and Kyle; many great grandchildren; a sister Barbara (Richard) Sulack and their children, Rick and Natalie (Mark) Richardson; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother and sister.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Winona, with Rev. Russ Scepaniak officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Winona.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, Winona and beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4 in the Visitation Commons of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
