Convicted felon arrested with multiple firearms, drugs in Buffalo County

(KWNO)-A joint investigation between the Mondovi Police Department and the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of a convicted felon and the seizure of multiple firearms, including illegally modified weapons.

In October 2025, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of automatic gunfire within the City of Mondovi. After a several-month investigation, law enforcement arrested 27-year-old Patrick Whiley Fox.

Courtesy Buffalo County Sheriff's Office Fox admitted that in late October he had been using a significant amount of Xanax and discharged a fully automatic handgun multiple times in a neighborhood near North Creek Lane in the City of Mondovi. Investigators recovered several weapons including a modified fully automatic pistol (machine gun) and two sawed-off shotguns. Cocaine and other drug paraphernalia were also found at the residence. Fox is charged with five felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and other charges. The case remains under investigation.
