(KWNO)-A portion of County Road 26 will close in both directions for bridge construction starting Monday, February 2. The closure is just east of the intersection with State Highway 74 in Elba to County Road 37. According to the Winona County Highway Department, the work is scheduled to be done by July 10, 2026, “dependent on potential weather delays.”
The posted detour route from Elba will be south on State Highway 74 to St. Charles; east on US Highway 14 to Winona County Road 33; north on County Road 33 to Altura. Motorists are reminded to obey all traffic signs, slow down in work zones, and watch for workers, equipment and changing road conditions
