(KWNO)-Winona County’s only language immersion program will start accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year on Monday February 2. The Rios Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program at Winona Area Public Schools aims to “provide educational experiences and support bilingualism and biliteracy.” The program beings in kindergarten and is available through grade 12.
On Monday families can learn more about Rios at the Ready for Adventure Kindergarten Open House at Goodview School. There will also be informational sessions at W-K Elementary School on Tuesday February 10 and Thursday February 19. The initial application window for Rios will close on February 27.
