Rollingstone, Altura mayors sign letter to Gov. Walz addressing fiscal concerns

Dec 23, 2025 | 10:52 AM

(MNN)-Minnesota Mayors from 98 cities statewide, including Rollingstone and Altura, are urging Governor Tim Walz and the state legislature to address mounting fiscal concerns.

“Fraud, unchecked spending, and inconsistent fiscal management in St. Paul have trickled down to our cities, reducing our capacity to plan responsibly, maintain infrastructure, hire and retain employees, and sustain core services without overburdening local taxpayers,” said Crosslake Mayor Jackson Purfeerst.

Purfeerst says the letter they’ve sent is a rare, unified voice from mayors representing metro and Greater Minnesota communities.
