Construction on I-90, Highway 52 near Rochester enters new phase Tuesday

By Jason Melillo Oct 7, 2025 | 5:01 AM

(KWNO)-Starting Tuesday drivers heading south on Highway 52 will be shifted to the new lanes near the junction with I-90. Drivers will then use new temporary access to the eastbound I-90 on-ramp. The change will allow construction crews to work on ramps on the south side of I-90, which remains open in both directions. According to MnDOT, this is part of an ongoing three-year construction project in which work crews are replacing I-90 bridges over Highway 52 and constructing a new ramp from southbound Hwy. 52 to eastbound I-90. The aim of the project is to improve traffic flow and reduce delays through the interchange, which is a busy commuter and freight route.
