(KWNO)-A college student was allegedly assaulted and berated by her boyfriend on Tuesday night in the 250 block of West 7th Street. According to a WPD spokesperson, 18-year-old Mac Stephen Thiesing of Minneapolis was visiting his girlfriend, who attends Winona State. Witnesses told officers Thiesing and the woman got into an argument during which he slammed her to the ground, called her a “dumbass” and “retard” and said she would “be dead.” When officers arrived, Thiesing was hiding behind a building. The spokesperson said Thiesing was highly intoxicated. He was taken into custody without incident and is charged with domestic assault and underage consumption. The victim was not seriously injured.
