After initially saying no one was injured from a massive fire Thursday night at a Union Grove home under construction, the sheriff’s office later announced that the body identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey Paradise from the Black River Falls area was found inside the charred structure.

A statement from the sheriff’s office said Paradise owned a construction company and was staying at the house while it was being renovated. He was using space heaters in the home to keep warm. His death and the cause of the fire are still under investigation.
