Alice Mae (Mielke) Stark, 88, of Winona, MN, and formerly of St. Charles, Altura, and Minneiska, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Winona Health.
Alice was born on July 7, 1936, in Utica, MN, to John and Gladys (Gehrke) Mielke. She attended school in Utica and later married the love of her life, Conrad “Connie” Stark, in an intimate ceremony. Together, they shared decades of marriage and raised eight children.
Alice was a long-standing member of Our Savior’s Moravian Church in Altura. Alice is survived by her eight children: Janet (John) Majerus of Altura, Carolyn Stark of Winona, Duane Stark of Rollingstone, Raymond (Renee) Stark of Altura, Donna (Donald) Pilla of White Bear Lake, Christine (Jeffery) VerMeer of Charles City, IA, Valorie (Scott) Nation of Winona, and Brenda (Jeffery) Faber of Altura; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Grace (Gerald) Stark of Goodview, MN.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Connie, sons-in-law John Majerus and Robert Lockhart, and her granddaughter, Nina Pilla, great-grandson, Liam Nelson May she find peace. A private family gathering will be held, and interment will be held at Hebron Moravian Cemetery at a later date.
