Viroqua man allegedly shipped guns to Saudi Arabia, could face federal prison

A western Wisconsin man accused of shipping firearms to Saudi Arabia faces federal charges. The U.S. Department of Justice says 60-year-old Mark John Buschman of Viroqua allegedly listed firearms and related parts for sale online and smuggled them to buyers in Saudi Arabia in toasters, coffee makers and other items. The indictment lists at least 16 shipments made over approximately five years. The exchanges allegedly earned Buschman nearly $400,000 between February of 2019 and December of last year Buschman could face 42 years in federal prison and a $1.5 million in fines if convicted.
