Susan Dubiel, 78, of Stoughton, WI, formerly of Independence, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Nazareth Health in Stoughton with her family at her side.
Sue was born on December 20, 1945, in Blair, to Hensel and Lila Johnson. On January 16, 1965, she married Clarence Dubiel, Jr., at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence. Together, they built a life focused on their family and farming. In 1973, they were honored with the FHA Farm Family of the Year Award, a proud testament to their dedication and hard work in making their farm a success. Sue and Clarence were especially proud to see their son, Colin, continue the farm’s legacy, which he still does today.
Sue had a deep passion for flower gardening, which she cherished as a favorite hobby. Above all, she was known for the love and care she gave to her family. Whether she was nurturing her garden or spending time with loved ones, Sue made everyone around her feel valued and special.
Sue is survived by her three children: Lori (Mark) Glodowski of Arcadia, Colin Dubiel of Whitehall, and Cheri Dubiel of McFarland, WI. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Alex (Ali) Glodowski of Eleva, Kersten (Logan) Liddell of Chippewa Falls, Kyle (Sam) Dubiel of Whitehall, Gage Dubiel of Whitehall, and Lila Buckner of McFarland, WI, along with five great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. Sue is further survived by four sisters-in-law: Betty Stinson of Racine, Phyllis (Rollie) Reck of Milwaukee, Shirley Konter of Independence, and Kathy (Russ) Kujak of Arcadia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents, Hensel and Lila Johnson; and her grandson, Jacob Glodowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence with Father George Thayilkuzhitottu officiating.
