Ingrid Marie Bunke, age 71, of Rushford, MN, died Monday, November 11, 2024 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.
Ingrid was born September 11, 1953, in La Crosse, the daughter of Clifford and Violet (Peterson) Davidson. She attended Rushford High School. She was united in marriage to Duane Bunke on March 13, 1971 at Rushford Lutheran Church. The couple raised their family in Rushford. Ingrid was a devout Christian and was strong in her faith. Every day she looked forward to getting out of the house for an evening drive around Rushford with Duane, including a stop at Pam’s Corner for a quarter pop and a king size candy bar to split. They could go 50+ miles, but never leave the city limits! She was grateful to have a loving husband who cared for her, including taking her out to supper every Friday night. Ingrid loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially attending all of their sporting events. She never missed a football game in 20 years, even though she never quite understood the game. However, her favorite was watching her children and grandchildren play basketball. Ingrid felt especially blessed to be a great grandma. She was never sure if she would live long enough to earn the title and loved all five of her great-grandchildren dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Duane; children: Cher (Kevin) Franzen, Nikki (Andy McManimon) Bunke, and Dustin (Becky) Bunke, all of Rushford; grandchildren: Ethan (Riette) Franzen, Mariah Franzen (Kelly Ostlund), Marissa Franzen (Ethan Rislov), Isaiah Bunke, Malachi Bunke, Jonah Bunke, Stella Bunke, Dawson Bunke (Hillary Eide), Emerson Bunke, Oliver Bunke, and Quinn Bunke; great-grandchildren: Knox and Lucy Rislov, Hendrik and Nehemiah Franzen, and Lyle Ostlund.
Ingrid is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jo-Nelle Bunke; and brother, Clark Davidson.
A funeral service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:30am at Rushford Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Chellew officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, from 4-7pm at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be at Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.
