A Minnesota man is arrested in connection to a 50-year-old murder case in western Wisconsin. Investigators arrested 84-year-old Jon Miller of Owatonna, Minnesota in connection to the killing of 25-year-old Mary Schlais. Schlais was found dead in rural Dunn County in February 1974. She was hitchhiking from Minneapolis to Chicago to see an art show and had been stabbed multiple times. In recent years the Dunn County Sherriff’s office began working with a college in New Jersey and through investigative genetics, they were able to ID Miller as a suspect. Miller is in custody and is awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.
