(KWNO)-A garage fire early Wednesday morning in Lewiston spread and fully engulfed a house on South Benson Drive. The homeowner woke up to popping sounds around 2:50 a.m. and discovered the fire in his garage.
The man’s wife and 16-year-old child were also in the house. All three people got out safely. According to the Winona County Sheriff’s Office the popping sound was exploding shot gun shells that were in the garage. The homeowner told first responders they will be staying with nearby family.
