Winhawk and Trojan Football Both Look to Bounce Back in Week Four Matchups

By Jake Litman Sep 20, 2024 | 9:33 AM

(KWMN)-Area High School Football teams will once again be in action later tonight as both Winona Senior High and Rushford-Peterson will look for bounce back games in week four, after their week three losses.

Winona

The Winhawks will hit the road on their week four matchup to St. Paul to take on St. Croix Lutheran.

Last season, Winona and St. Croix battled in a close game, with the Winhawks falling short, 22-21. Winona will look to bounce back from back-to-back losses after losing in week two to Mondovi, 38-22, and then getting blown out last Friday night to Byron, 45-15.

Winona enters the weekend in a tie for last place in the Platinum Division in the Skyway conference with three other teams without a division win through one week of conference play.

Rushford-Peterson

Similar to Winona, the Trojans will also be looking to bounce back as they host a familiar foe in Fillmore Central in Rushford.

We’ll have the coverage of this one, with Cooper Lipski on the call beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the Winona Sports Network, FM 99.3 and streaming live online right here at winonaradio.com and on the Winona Radio App.

Last Friday night, RP were bested by top 10 ranked Goodhue 31-6. They’ll have to maintain the high-flying Falcon offense later tonight if they want to improve their current 7th place standing in the Mid-Southeast (East Division) conference.
