Friends of the late Madeline Kingsbury of Winona say she confided in them about alleged physical abuse by her ex-boyfriend Adam Fravel. The second day of Fravel’s pretrial hearing Wednesday, featured testimony from five of Kingsbury’s close friends. They told the court that Fravel had choked Madeline in front of their kids and encouraged her to end the relationship. One of the women said Kingsbury was nervous about leaving Fravel because he threatened to make it difficult to see her children if she did. Fravel will be tried for the first- and second-degree murder of Kingsbury next month in Mankato.
