(KWNO)-The Minnesota House late last week passed the Higher Education Committee’s package of policy proposals (House File 4024). The bill focuses on building off the $4 billion investment last session in the state’s higher education institutions.
“This session, the primary focus of the Higher Education Committee has been to ensure the full implementation of the investments we made last year. We’re also putting forward policies that support our students, make our campuses safer and train the workforce of tomorrow,” said Rep. Gene Pelowski (DFL-Winona), Chairman of the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee.
On the heels last year’s Higher Education Budget, enrollment across Minnesota’s colleges and universities is up for the first time in more than a decade. There was also a freeze on Minnesota State tuition and free college for students with household income under $80,000.
