(KWNO)-A La Crescent man is dead after being pinned under a tractor. A Winona County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Wednesday afternoon was called to a residence in the 32,000 block of County Road 1 in rural La Crescent by a woman who found her husband trapped under his tractor which had flipped upside down. La Crescent Fire and Rescue and Tri-City ambulance responded and determined life saving measures were unnecessary. The man’s wife said he was cutting and clearing trees. A Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said it appears a log got wedged in the tractor causing it to flip over backwards. The tractor was lifted off the man using air bags and first responders confirmed he was deceased. The victim is 63-year-old George Edward Howe.
