(KWNO)-A house fire in Winona was possibly caused by an explosion, according to a post on the Winona Fire Department’s Facebook page. Fire crews responded to a residence in the 850 block of West 5th Street around 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Firefighters put out a small fire in the one of the rooms and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
According to a Winona Police spokesperson the residence is a “rooming house” and as many as a dozen people may have been in the home when the fire started. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting displaced tenants.
