(KWNO)-A Winona man kicked in a door in the 1050 block of East Fifth Street on Saturday night and allegedly swung a homemade weapon at people living there. Officers believe Shane Oevering was intoxicated when he broke down the door and swung a broom rod with a metal lock attatched to it at the victims. When officers arrived Oevering was still holding the weapon and making nonsensical comments leading officers to ascertain he was under the influence of a controlled substance. Oevering did not hit anyone with the weapon, according to police.
