(KWNO)-Rochester Wholesale Fruit will close its doors at the end of the month. The locally owned Winona grocery store has been in business for 45 years. It was started in 1978 by Gary La Point and is run today by his daughter Nikki Stanton. The announcement of the closure was made on Facebook and prompted hundreds of comments from customers, most thanking the business for its more than four decades serving the community. The entire property is for sale but the neighboring Downtown Meat Market will remain open going forward, according to Stanton.
