WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)- Winona County Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention announced they have received a $577,430 federal grant.
ASAP Programing Coordinator Phillip Huerta shared two areas the group plans to put the money towards programing to counteract underaged drinking and vaping.
Huerta says substance abuse among Winona County youth is higher than the national and state average. Huerta says that was a factor in ASAP receiving the Drug-Free Communities Grant.
Huerta says there’s still a lot of work they can do to improve health and safety for Winona County families.
