(KWNO)-Liquid manure dumped into a Rollingstone stream led to a fish kill and the pumping company being fined by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
According to the MPCA, Dankers Pumping applied liquid manure to an agricultural field which caused the fish kill in Straight Valley Creek in Winona County in April 2023. The amount of manure overloaded the field’s ability to retain the waste and it emptied into the creek killing 33 brown trout in Straight Valley Creek which is a designated trout water.
Dankers Pumping of Goodhue, MN was fined $15, 100 by the MPCA and had to clean up the site.
