(KWNO)- The Winona Steamboat Days Committee gathered yesterday at Bluffview Montessori School to Suprise the winner of the 2023 Steamboat Days Button Desing Contest during a school assembly.
This year’s design winner is Morwyn Johnson, a 7th grader at Bluffview Montessori, and daughter of Mark and Jennifer.
Morwyn has a passion for designing things, and her father Mark was excited that she won, but not surprised, saying that Morwyn especially likes to design houses and works on her drawings for hours.
The second and third place winners are Carlos Serna Pasillas and Katrina Loos, respectively. Both are students at Winona Senior High School.
Steamboat Days buttons will be available for sale beginning Friday, May 26 at Kwik Trip Stores, Sinclair Stations, HyVee, Midtown Foods and Bronk’s Gardens. buttons are $5.00 each and will be for sale at these locations through Steamboat Days, June 14-18 of this year. Button sales help support events that are free to attend such as the Grande Parade and Fireworks.
