(KWNO)-You can continue Winona Area Public Schools’ proud tradition of musical brilliance by attending one of three concerts this month featuring the talented musicians from the Winona Senior High School and the Winona Middle School.
The Winona Senior High School bands, choirs, and orchestra will be holding a combined concert on Sunday, December 11th, beginning at 2 p.m. in the WSHS gymnasium.
Performing at the Merchants Bank in downtown Winona, beginning at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, December 16th, will be the Winona Senior High School choirs.
The last concert will be held in the Winona Middle School auditorium at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 19th, and will feature a combined concert of the Winona Middle School grades 6–8 band and choir.
The Winona Area Public Schools’ three music ensembles got their start in the 1930s.
The choirs at the middle and high schools are led by conductor Dr. Travis Sletta. The high school and middle school orchestras are led by conductor Lori Carlson.
Tim Gleason will work alongside Russell Diggins, who is leading the high school band for the first time. The middle school band conductors are Gleason and Paula Braaten.
