Reports of Vehicle Thefts Lead to Juveniles Being Cited for Alcohol Consumption

(KWNO)-At 1:36 p.m. on Sunday, November 20th, in the 200 block of East 10th Street, residents reported two juvenile males possibly entering vehicles in the area.

Responding officers located the two subjects matching the descriptions given. While talking to the 17-year-old subjects, a pair of women’s sunglasses fell out of one of their pockets. The owner of the sunglasses was able to identify the sunglasses as being hers. A further search of the juveniles’ pockets resulted in the location of several stolen items from the vehicles. The items were subsequently returned to their owners, who did not wish to pursue charges.

However, both juveniles appeared to have been drinking, and a field test for alcohol was administered with results indicating they had consumed alcohol. The results of the portable breath tests were 0.069 and 0.113, respectively. They were each cited for minor consumption. Their parents and guardians were notified.
