Highway 43/61 Construction Update

(KWNO)- Construction continues to remain on schedule for the Hwy 43/61 roundabout project in Winona, with more traffic changes coming this week.

MnDOT is reminding Winona drivers that left turns on Mankato Ave. are not allowed in any capacity.

Starting tomorrow, Sept. 20th, crews will close down Frontenac Dr. in order to conduct work on a water main. All businesses are still accessible on Frontenac Dr. but MnDOT is asking drivers to take Menard Road to the south and enter Hwy 43/Mankato at Riverbend Road instead of attempting to get on Hwy 43 from Frontenac Dr.

Later this month there will be new traffic changes on Hwy 43/Mankato Avenue at the north end of the roundabout at Hwy 61 and Parks Avenue south, as well as traffic lanes on the south end of the roundabout near Kwik Trip.

Construction is still on pace to finish in November.
