Winona Community Foundation Seeking Nominees for Founders Award

WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Winona Community Foundation is seeking nominations for its Founders Award.

The foundation’s website says the Founders Award goes to a community member who “has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to improving life in the Winona area through the use of their time, talent and treasure.” President/CEO Nancy Brown provided examples of that criteria.

“It might be through volunteerism, whether it’s to one specific organization or to a broad swath, it could be someone who is a volunteer fundraiser, that you know if you have a special event, they’re there volunteering to make sure those dollars come in, or it might be someone who is making significant financial contributions,” Brown said.

The nominations are due by Friday. The recipient will be announced in July.
