(KWNO)- The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to be on the lookout for an impersonator scam.
Authorities a man is calling community members claiming to be Kevin Wade from the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the impersonator will tell their target to provide a DNA sample and there will be a warrant issued for their arrest if they don’t comply.
The Sheriff’s Office says they don’t have anyone named Kevin Wade working for them and advise anyone who gets a call from the sheriff’s office to verify the caller. They say multiple parties showed up at the sheriff’s office following the scam call on Saturday.
