Steamboat Days Harbormaster Capped

Steamboat Days Harbormaster (2019, 20 & 21) was recently accompanied by Miss Winona 2021 Rachel Evangelisto to Cap Steamboat Days Board Member and Parade Chair Fred Benning.

Fred was selected as Harbormaster for the 75th Annual Steamboat Days because of his continued commitment to the annual celebration starting with attending as a child. Fred was a Winona Jay Cee from 1967 –1975 and was chosen to be a part of the committee that reinvented Steamboat Days in 2000.

Fred has been the Parade chair since 2000. The Winona Steamboat Days Parades is considered one of Minnesota’s premier parades. Fred has also served as Steamboat Days President in 2004 and 2019.

Fred and past Harbormasters will be the hosts for the Steamboat Days Sip and Celebrate Wine and Beer Tasting Saturday, May 7th, 7 pm – 9 pm at the American Legion Club. This fundraiser will benefit Steamboat Days events and Winona Volunteer Services Food Shelf.

Tickets will be available for sale on April 8th at HyVee and from Steamboat Days board members.
