(KWNO)-Despite increasing by more than 1,000 people in the past year, Winona County’s labor force remains below where it was before the COVID-19 pandemic set in.
The latest data from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show the county’s workforce ended January with 28,462 people either employed or looking for work. That’s down from 28,753 workers in Feb. of 2020.
Winona County’s unemployment rate is 2.6%. That’s up from Dec. Of 2021 but down from 3.1% posted in Feb. 2020.
