WABASHA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (SEMMCRAH) announced recently that Winona, Wabasha, Dodge, and Goodhue Counties received an allocation of over $1.2 million to assist first-time homebuyers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Qualified first-time buyers who meet income requirements may be eligible to receive assistance with the down payment or closing costs. The funds can be used to buy a new or existing home limited to a price of $311,900.
The funds are available for residents of the eligible counties who do not reside within the cities of Winona and Red Wing. A press release SEMMCRAH points out homebuyer education courses are required for some state housing assistance loans.
