Winona State Pitcher Earns Weekly Honors

In what has been a very rocky start for the Winona State Baseball team, there is finally some positive news to build off of.

Senior, Nicolas Herold was named NSIC Pitcher of the week. Herold came on in relief against the Univ. Of Sciences and pitched 5.5 shutout innings, without allowing a hit and striking out 12.

The Warriors are off to a rough start, sitting at 2-9 on the season so far. They’ll start the conference portion of their schedule this Saturday with a double header against Northern State starting at 1:30 p.m. Warriors are expected to host Northern on their own diamond, which would be the first time of the year they get to play competitively on their home field. This is of course weather permitting, but as of right now, it looks like sunshine, baseball and a perfect spring day come Saturday.
