WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Over $430,000 in affordable mortgages are available for first-time homebuyers in the Winona area.
The money comes from the Minnesota Housing Start-Up loan program. Qualifying first-time homebuyers can take advantage of down payment and closing cost fixed-interest-rate loans of up to $17,000. Buyers can purchase homes in the city of Winona that cost up to $311,900.
“The Start-Up loan program is a wonderful way for residents of Winona to obtain homeownership, as it can relieve the burden of paying the downpayment and closing costs upfront,” said Development Coordinator Nick Larson.
Income limits vary by size and location and are capped at up to $107,000 per household. For a list of participating lenders and more information, click here.
